New Music and Events Venue Signals New Era of Confidence in Dundee City Centre

LIVEHOUSE Dundee is set to become one of Scotland’s premier destinations for live entertainment and events, as a major transformation project nears completion. Located in the iconic former Green’s Playhouse and Mecca Bingo building on Nethergate, the venue—named LIVEHOUSE—will open in phases, with the first stage opening in May 2025.

Once all phases are fully completed, LIVEHOUSE will be one of the largest music and events venues in the country, bringing top UK and international artists to the heart of Dundee. The development comes at a pivotal moment for Dundee city centre, which is experiencing a wave of revitalisation and investment, including major works at the nearby Overgate Shopping Centre.

Designed as a versatile, state-of-the-art venue, LIVEHOUSE will host everything from large conferences and awards dinners to major concerts and club nights. With a flexible layout tailored to accommodate a wide range of events, the venue is poised to become a cultural and commercial hub for the region.

As Dundee continues to grow as a destination for tourism, business, and the arts, LIVEHOUSE stands as a bold statement of confidence in the city’s future
